Sadly, we no longer have a 'Junior Choir' as such.

For 20 years Alex Williams led very successfully our Junior Choir teaching many, many children to sing. Sadly, this has had to come to an end as Alex is now away at Ripon College Cuddesdon training for the ordained ministry.

St James' Alveston Junior Choir sing at a Wedding in the Church (2014)

If YOU, or anyone you know, feel they have a calling to teach young people to sing please contact the Vicar - or 01789 292777

Who can join?

Anyone who can read and who would like to explore singing. We encourage team work and having fun as a group. It doesn't matter what school you go to, whether you go to church or know anything about God or the Christian faith. We don't hold auditions because everyone has a voice, and even if yours isn't brilliant once you join it soon will be! You do need to be able to make a commitment to coming to a weekly rehearsal on Tuesdays from 5 - 6pm and singing once a month at a Sunday morning service.

Senior Choir

Quite a number of our Senior Choir members came through the ranks of the Junior Choir and any young people are welcome to join with the seniors at practice on Tuesday evenings at 6.15pm
